Manuela Lanner

Senior Full-Stack / Mobile Developer

My journey into software development started at TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology), where I completed my Master's degree in Software Engineering & Internet Computing.

During my master's thesis, I discovered my passion for Android development – and I've stuck with it ever since.

I started my professional career as a developer at CPB Software, working in the banking sector. At the same time, I began turning my own ideas into apps, which eventually led to projects such as the Moony moon calendar and Bellz.

Since then, I've had the chance to work on a wide range of projects. These included a startup focused on AR glasses, a warehouse management solution for the food industry, as well as contributing to the Android app for FastViewer.

Another project that is still with me today is a fully customized time-tracking solution for a company in Carinthia. I developed the application from the ground up and continue to manage, maintain, and further develop it independently.

The common thread across all these projects is that I enjoy building software that not only works technically, but actually serves a purpose in everyday use. I especially enjoy taking ownership of an idea, finding pragmatic solutions, and continuously improving a product over time.

Senior Real-Time Developer

I specialize in real-time systems, native performance, and complex technical challenges.

My journey in software development also took me to TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology), where I studied computer science and software development. But my interest in building software has always gone well beyond university – especially through personal projects that gave me the freedom to experiment with new technologies and simply build things from scratch.

Some of these projects include blubVolley, a small browser-based volleyball game, and VoxelTerrain, an extensive C++ library for editable voxel terrain with a strong focus on performance. Over time, the project grew to include topics such as rendering, physics, serialization, and synchronization via files, networks, and databases.

Professionally, I later contributed to the FastViewer Android app, gaining experience working on a larger, established software product.

From there, I moved into a very different field, working for a major German medical technology company as part of a larger development team building software for endoscopy. One of the main areas was reliable video transmission during surgical procedures. Alongside the core software development, technologies and topics such as WebRTC, Kubernetes, and Continuous Integration were part of the day-to-day work.

What I enjoy most about software development is the technical challenge behind complex problems: understanding new technologies, finding efficient solutions, and building systems that remain reliable even in demanding environments.
